February half term visitors to the Isle of Wight can enjoy a vast variety of things to do whilst staying on the Island. Your family pet would also love a stay on the Isle of Wight, we have pet friendly properties waiting for them.
A popular place to visit is Quarr Abbey, a working Benedictine monastery set in beautiful and peaceful surroundings located just outside of Ryde. The woodland walk incorporating the wildlife hide is a trail that meanders you through woodland and gives visitors the opportunity of catching a glimpse of the native Red Squirrel. As well as guided tours that take place to give the history of the Abbey and a visitor centre which tells the fascinating story of Quarr there is a charming café and a farm shop for you try.
For a wonderful evening out visit the mesmerising Oriental light, sound and entertainment at Robin Hill’s Electric Woods event where visitors can watch the dragon procession or enjoy the amazing late evening falconry show or perhaps enjoy a quiet moment to explore the woods with their beautifully lit trees and displays.
Slip on the walking boots, round up the kids, even bundle the dog in the car and head for Headon Warren. It’s a breathtaking walk with beautiful views of The Needles at Alum Bay. If you are feeling adventurous you could walk from The Needles Landmark Attraction to the Needles Old Battery and New Battery, a Victorian coastal defence and secret rocket testing site located high above the Needles Rocks.
