Holiday Information
Arrival & Departure
Most of our self catering holiday properties are available from 3:30pm on your arrival day, although there may be some properties that have a slightly different arrival time; however this will be stated in their description, and on your booking confirmation.
Generally the departure time is 10:00am on the final day, but again do check the specific details for your property.
The amount of time between arrival and departure of guests varies, and this is to make sure that the Owners and Housekeepers have long enough to ensure the property is at its best for your arrival. Please be patient is you arrive early and hope to gain access to your booked property before the standard check in time as some of the larger properties in particular, can take the full five hours.
Island Life
We want you to enjoy your stay in one of our self catering holiday accommodations on the Isle of Wight and make it as relaxing as possible, therefore we have selected some great Island attractions and eateries that we think you might just love as much as we do.
We have compiled an “About The Island” section, providing details of places for eating out, shopping, Island attractions and the best beaches to visit around the Island.
Parking
Parking facilities vary from property to property and some parking areas can be on the smaller side, so, if the parking is a bit tight, the description will say so. It’s always a good idea to double check access if you’re planning on visiting with a larger-than-average vehicle, but as a guide, we consider a medium-sized car to be equivalent to a Volkswagen Golf. Look out for phrases such as ‘Private parking for 1 medium-sized car’ to help you decide.
Equally, if you have a vehicle with a low wheel base, some of our properties are in unique settings that can involve driving along some bumpy unmade roads to get to them. So read the description carefully and take note when it says the property is ‘down a track’.
Access
We want to make sure you choose the holiday cottage that is right for you, so if anyone in your party has special requirements please get in touch. We know our properties inside out so can tell you if that converted barn has enough room for a wheelchair to get around, or if the staircase in that thatched cottage is too steep for the less abled.
If you have any concerns or queries, you can speak to the office team who will be able to assist you.
Bed Linen & Towels
All of our properties include bed linen, some properties provide towels as well, please make sure to check the descriptions carefully. A change of linen is supplied if you’re staying in the same property for two weeks or more but you will need to bring your own cot bedding if you need it.
If the property you are staying in provides towels, please don’t take them outside – you should bring your own beach towels if you want to take them out and about with you.
Mobile Coverage
Many of our properties are in idyllic but remote locations. This means you might not be able to get reception on your mobile. For some this is a blessing, for others it just won’t do. If reliable mobile reception is important to you, please check the sites below:

Televisions
Televisions are listed in the self catering holiday accommodation details and where satellite is provided, it will be stated. There are so many different packages available for extra channels and satellite we couldn’t possibly list all the variations. So, if you need to know exact details, please ask.
WIFI
Broadband speed and service can vary and, at some properties, bandwidth is restricted so may not offer sufficient capacity for downloading films, television programmes or music. Please respect download limits and do not exceed a reasonable level of usage. If you need more details beforehand, please ask.
Property Ownership
We take great care in selecting the properties we market and in working with Owners who share our views. However, it is important that you are aware that, as with all holiday cottage agencies, the rental agreement is directly with the Owners. In the unusual circumstance that the Owners or Housekeeper are unable to sort out any problems you may encounter with the property, we are at hand, but our role is that of an arbitrator. In that capacity, we will do our utmost to ensure that any problems are resolved quickly and to your complete satisfaction.
Losses & Damages
We understand that accidents can happen, however any losses or damages during your holiday must be paid for. Before you arrive, your property will have been cleaned, the inventory checked and any missing items noted or replaced. If you find any deficiencies or damages on arrival which have not been noted, it is in your own interest to notify the Owners or Housekeeper, or failing that our own office, as soon as possible and at the latest within 48 hours of your arrival.
You should also be aware that you have a legal liability to pay for any damages you may cause to the property during your holiday. We ask all Owners to insure the property in respect of the usual risks covered by a building and contents policy and, whilst these policies will vary in detail, the major incidents should be covered. However, in certain circumstances, if you should cause any loss or damage by negligence, you could become liable and you would probably not be covered by the personal liability section of your own household policy. Equally, the Owner’s insurance is unlikely to cover your personal possessions. You would therefore be well advised to check on these points with your insurers and you may find that, providing they are given notice, they will extend your normal cover to include your holiday home.
